WHY
The BLOG, as an emergent media type, has developed myriad typologies to categorize, originate and critique flows of information. Its immediacy and social dimensions provide a framework for the development of global aggregate communities addressing parallel interests. Innately novel and open-source, BLOGs produce a research environment conducive to advanced methodologies and ideologies.
WHAT
Works-thoughts is a broadcast stream of original content and critique by James Diewald. It is a chronicle of process, working towards a fuller understanding of design methodologies and rationalized form as they relate to architecture. The theoretical implications and the technical implementations of advanced computational tools will be discussed at length.
WHO
James Diewald is a graduate student in the Department of Architecture and Urban Design at UCLA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Miami University (06) and has worked for regional and international architecture firms in the United States and Germany.
